Vintage Sunglasses and Eyewear

Online Retailers

From , former About.com Guide

One of the easiest ways to wear vintage is with accessories, and vintage sunglasses and eyewear are a simple everyday accessory that anyone can wear.

Here's a rundown of some of the best online retailers for vintage sunglasses and eyeware:

Giant Vintage

Super affordable and a giganitic selection (which is updated often), Giant Vintage has shades for everyone. Almost all items are vintagedeadstock, which means you are getting vintage glasses that have never been worn. There are some glasses which are not vintage, but they disclole the non vintage items with a giant flashing warning so there's no ambiquity.

House of Sunglasses

Massive selection of affordable glasses and sunglasses, hundreds of them vintage. House of Sunglasses always has awesome deals and promotions too, so you can stock up!

80s Purple

80s Purple has, what else, 80s glasses...and the best part...all 80s glasses are only $10! Make sure you find the 80s collection page though, because they sell a lot of other vintage looking designer glasses too.

EyeGlass Boy

Heads up, this webiste looks reallly bad (design wise), BUT the site is legit and has even be a source for film costume designers.  If you can get past all the colors and pixilated logo, I promise, here are amazing vintage eyeglasses to be had. Prices vary depending on the rarity and condition. Note that there are vintage reoproductions for sale, but they are clearly disclosed in the description.

Vintage 50s Eyewear (Etsy)

The name says it all...50s vintage eyeware. Mostly eyeglasses, but some sunglasses too. The selection is good and changes often. Many of the glasses available are really unique and unlike most I've ever seen online. They also give detailed specifications so that you know that the glasses will fit and can be easily filled with perscription lenses.

VintagEye (Etsy)

This Etsy seller only does one thing, and they do it well...you could even say they have an "eye" for vintage eyewear. Dior, Courreges (yes, Courreges!), Pierre Cardin, Versace; VintagEye has them all! Those looking for a steal will be out of luck, these glasses are high end, hard to find, investment items.

MOD Vintage (Etsy)

Very affordable selection of deadstock eyeglass frames in classic styles and fun colors.

Nasty Gal Vintage

A well curated, trendy selection of vintage eyeware at a range of prices. All vintage sunglasses are new old stock/dead stock, mostly from the 80s.

Karmaloop

An extensive selection of "eyewear of the 60s to 80s". Glasses start at $130, and even though they aren't designer, they are dead stock.

American Apparel

American Apparel offers a small but solid dead stock vintage eyewear selection in it's online store. Glasses start at $25 and climb from there. Sometimes, rare or designer glasses or sunglasses are available ata higher price point.
