Lou Doillon is a master of unique, vintage-inspired style. This photo is classic Doillon; her denim romper is an one easy piece, but looks like two pieces. It's sexy and slightly tomboyish in a girly sort of way. That sort of gender play is at the heart of the Gainsbourg/Birkin style. Jane, or Mama Birkin's body type (a boy shape) was perhaps the original inspiration for this. The combination of a super-short romper with the plunging neckline is neutralized by her masculine hat. Do like Lou, and contrast potentially overly sexy look with boyish accessories.
