Cover it Up

Maybe you didn’t notice the small hole, tear, or stain when you bought that vintage item, but all of a sudden you feel like there is a neon arrow pointing out that damage. So what’s a girl to do?

There are lots of ways to camouflage any fashion emergency with these tools in your arsenal:

  • Silk scarf
  • Wide belt
  • Large pendant
  • Brooch or Pin

You can make a great cover up by being creative with any one of those accessories, or for a more subtle approach at hiding vintage clothing damage you can try:

  • Rolling up the sleeves
  • Bringing up the hemline(s)
  • For shirts: wear under sweater, jacket, etc.
  • Adding an appliqué

If it’s a stain that’s got you down, try using a gentle stain remover like the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, or Oxy Clean Wipes (be sure to spot test first, and NEVER use on fabrics like silk, satin, or suede).
