Fall/Winter Trend in Vintage

From , former About.com Guide

If the 70's are "in" this fall/winter, then the season's MVP (most valuable piece) is the jumpsuit. It all started in Spring 2011 at Yves Saunt Laurent. R&B superstar Rihanna caused a fashion blog firestorm when she was photographed slinking through Italy in a backless white one last August. At the Fall shows, fashionistas took the opportunity to support YSL in the line's sheer cutout versions from the front rows at Lincoln Center.

A routine pilgrimage to a popular vintage clothing shop in Barcelona back in October made it all official--it's all about the jumpsuit. Vintage retailers had stocked up on jumpsuits from across the decades, from utilitarian flight suit types, to the silky, patterned, and sophisticated. You'll find the best selections in vintage shops, of course, but also in vintage-inspired contemporary shops like Free People. Jumpsuits, wherein one doesn't have to match anything, or juggle too many pieces to look good, will elevate your style to the effortless chic of a 70's starlet. It's like slipping on a great dress, except cooler--they're trousers! Here are 20 chic jumpsuits from around the web.
