The Sartorialist is one of the first blogs I added to my blog roll a few years ago and it is always filled with inspiration and interesting point of views. It is one of the most respected blogs in the fashion industry as it features so many trend makers and high end fashions. But there is also another side of the Sartorialsit that isn't about trends and is about style.
Scott Schuman and company always try to hit home the fact that being stylish is not about following trends; it's about being true to yourself. It's also about understanding the classics and making them your own. Though he doesn't feature "vintage" looks per say, but the focus and respect of classic style is something that those who wear vintage understand well.
So it doesn't come as a surprise that the iconic blog has taken on a new project that is all about vintage. The Sartorialst recently asked for user submissions for a vintage photo contest. With thousands of submissions, no winner has been chosen yet, but the best entries have been featured on the blog. It is a great way to see fantastic style from all over the world during the 20th century.
I hope that a winner isn't chosen too soon because there are just so many amazing images being featured. My favorite featured submission so far has been "The Shot" which features an amazingly cool chick from the 50's wearing men's jeans, sporting a super short pixie haircut, and pointing a gun with a cigarette hanging out of the corner of her mouth; sooo Tarantino.
The winner should be announced this week, so visit The Sartorialist to see which photo takes the cake!
